Dresden, 23. Juni – 01. Juli 2011

Vom 23.

During their stay, the Georgian artists discovered unexpected aspects of Leipzig: Gothic church doors and dark sandstone fronts were next to dressed-up Gothic and Dark Wave fans who were there for the “Wave-Gothic meeting” on the weekend of Pentecost.

Can this be seen as a mystical continuity of Leipzig, which goes from a centuries old tradition to the trendy adolescent subculture of today? Or is it rather the reflection of the artists’ quest of meaning in our banal everyday life? Anyway, the graphic designer and the two professional photographers and visual artists went on the imaginary journey with the marschroutka bus, got off to stay at Leipzig for several weeks and immersed themselves in a city where a strong dynamic can be felt under a surface which doesn’t always shine. This dynamic fascinated and enchanted the three Georgian artists until the “10 MINUTES SHOWER” got them back to reality.

We are happy to welcome the artists in person at the vernissage on June 23rd at 8 pm and that we can present you a great highlight with Giorgi Mozgovoi’s VJ-show.

You can visit the exhibition until July 1st from Monday till Friday, 4-8 pm.

Vernissage June 23rd, Blaue Fabrik, Prießnitzstraße 44-48, 01099 Dresden, 8 pm.
