„Armenia/Georgia Inside/Out“ 12.08.-04.09. in Nuremberg!

Having already been shown very successfully in Dresden in January and in Oelsnitz in June-July this year, the photo exhibition „Armenia/Georgia Inside/Out“ can now be visited a next time in the south of Germany, from August 12th till September 04th at the gallery Artelier by Laurentiu Feller in Nuremberg.


The works of the eleven exhibiting photographers are showing different aspects of Caucasian reality and are bringing us one step closer to one of the culturally richest regions in the world.  Siegfried Woeber, Zaven Sargsyan and Carlos Jose Bourdijana are presenting impressive photographs from Georgia and Armenia. Harald Schluttig, Karen Grigoryan and Elena Pagel concentrate in their work on people and are presenting stunning portraits where characteristic Caucasian traits can be observed. With the photos of Aleksey Manukyan people got to know about horrible earthquake that took place in Armenia in 1988 which especially ruined the city he is coming from and Elena Rakviashvili shows us Georgian soldiers after the war with Russia in 2008.
Holger Wendland, who is also the curator of the exhibition, put the focus on the abyss of transformation of a post sowjet reality as well as Matthias Schumann with his work called police tryptichon. Last but not least Yuri Mechitov shows us a look behind the scenery of the world of famous film maker Sergo Parayanov.
