TRANSKAUKAZJA reloaded - 5th Oct 2011 in Dresden!
2011-09-13
/ Karen GrigoryanOn Wednesday October 5th 2011 7pm the exhibition „TRANSKAUKAZJA reloaded“ opens at gallery Johannstadthalle with a unique presentation of contemporary arts from Caucasus. A Caucasian buffet and a musical program complete the evening.

Caucasus – a region at the edge of Europe with long cultural tradition, post socialistic transformation and bloody ethnic conflicts? This too much stereotyped focus needs to be refreshed by a multifaceted exhibition with contemporary arts from Armenia and Georgia. At the same time the organizer from Kultur Aktiv together with Johannstadthalle show us a concluding presentation of results made during the Transkaukazja project in 2011 by Caucasian and German artists.

Participating artists are: Carlos José Bourdijan, Karen Grigoryan, Aleksey Manukyan, Yuri Mekhitov, Elena Pagel, Elene Rakviashvili, Zaven Sargsyan, Harald Schluttig, Matthias Schumann, Holger Wendland und Siegfried Woeber, (“Armenia/Georgia InsideOut’’), Maia Abashidze, Giorgi Dadiani and Giorgi Mozgovoi (MAF group, Tbilisi/Georgia), Aleksey Manukyan, Yeghiazar Movsisyan, Arman Tadevosyan (5th Floor, Gyumri/Armenia), Edgar Amroyan, Ara Petrosyan, Garik Yeghibaryan (Art Laboratory, Yerevan/Armenia).
