/ Gabi SchluttigFrom June 14th – 19th the exhibition „THAT`S. THE POINT“ with the Armenian artists from collective 5th Floor from Gyumri, Aleksey Manukyan, Arman Tadevosyan und Yeghiazar Movsisyan will take place in gallery “Blaue Fabrik” in Dresden.

The exhibition shows the results from an eight week lasting artist in residence in Dresden under the issue “With marshroutka from Caucasus to Dresden”. Curated by Elena Pagel it is a part of the international art project Transkaukazja2011.

The theme of the photo series is the transformation of reality and space in the urban landscape. With the modernization of local transport, the contrast between two different social environments is represented by transposing old Soviet buses to Dresden and modern German trams to Gyumri. Here, the aesthetic criteria meet the socio- economic reality, making it possible for the audience to take part in the creative process of Transkaukazja 2011.

Guest artists include Harald Schluttig from Dresden, who exhibits his series of photos - “Traffic in Gyumri”, 2009, Sargis Hovhannisyan from Armenia with the video called “Bus” and Danish artists Julie Wouwenaar Toygaard and Mira Kellermann with audio visual installations “Sound of Ghosts” Copenhagen 2011.
