First „Marschroutka“party in Leipzig on Sunday, 11th June: experiencing and celebrating art and the Caucasus!
2011-06-09

The association Kultur Aktiv invites you on Sunday 11th June from 5 pm in the gallery KUB to Leipzig’s first “Marschroutka” party. Inside the gallery, the three Georgian artists Giorgi Dadiani, Maia Abashidze and Giorgi Mozgovoi prepared an installation which places the beholder in an imaginative way inside a Georgian marschroutka driving through the streets of Tbilisi.

At 8 pm, a VJ-show of Giorgi Mozgovoi starts to the tunes of DJ Lenny Brooster from Born2Groove. From 5 pm, guests can take the real Georgian artists with them into a marschroutka bus which is not 100% real: an imaginative city tour of the Caucasus, as Leipzig becomes to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, this evening. Just hop on the bus and feel like at home in Caucasus!

Marschroutkas are typical Easteuropean taxi-buses, which are known by every Caucasus traveller. With the “Marschroutka” partys in Leipzig, Chemnitz and Dresden, Kultur Aktiv tries to bring the Caucasian everyday routine into our gallery in a creative way.
