We invite you to the opening of the visual arts exposition accompanied by meeting with curators from Caucasus today in Italia Passage, 23/25 Nowy Świat street in Warsaw. We’re starting at 6. p.m.Program:
- Project of international collective Slavs and Tatars inspired by Caucasuswide magazine Molla Nasreddin (from beginnings of XX century) – realization: mural. Slavs and Tatars is an international group, meeting in their works research, pop culture, urban legends and contemporary art. Their works are part of Museum of Modern Art in New York.
- Confederation project – Transkaukazja is a festival referring to existing for one month in 1918 Caucasus Federation – curators: Georgi Vanyan (film director and animator of peacebuilding initiatives) and Wato Tsereteli, a founder and director of The Centre of Contemporary Art in Tbilisi. Workshop led by Wato will be held on Friday, 24 June.
- Project USSR-Remix: referring to common soviet heritage and to it’s influence on contemporaneity. Coordinators by Sabina Shikhlinskaya, Bahram Khalilov – artists: Bahram Khalilov, Farid Rasulov, Rena Effendi, Hussein Hagverdiyev and Tarlan Gorchu - one of the most renowned graphic artist in Azerbaijan. - City-in-use – presentation of the project implemented in April this year in framework of Transkaukazja in Yerevan. Project was combined of discussions, presentations, exhibition and actions in the city. It refered to the wave of democratic demonstrations of the last years in Caucasian countries and other issues related to art and space. Presentation: Vahram Aghasyan (artist, participant of many international exhibitions) and Eva Kchachatryan – artist and curator (among other things, realization of Armenian pavilion at Venice Biennale).
